Rewind to 2018!!

Hi and welcome to the blog. Indulge your senses and embark on a transformative journey towards luminous, rejuvenated skin with our sanctuary of self-care and skincare wisdom.

There I was 10 years after completing my Esthetics course, learning the healing benefits of light therapy. My journey began with Light Stim's handheld devices and soon after evolved to standalone devices. Here's a brief backstory:

How it came to be discovered...

Light therapy, also known as phototherapy, has evolved from ancient practices to become a modern staple in skin care and healing. Its journey began with early civilizations, such as the ancient Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans, who recognized the healing power of sunlight. They often used sun exposure to treat various ailments, intuitively harnessing the benefits of natural light.

Fast forward to the 19th century, when Danish physician Niels Ryberg Finsen made significant strides in light therapy. In 1903, he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Medicine for his pioneering work on phototherapy, particularly in treating lupus vulgaris, a form of tuberculosis of the skin, with concentrated light rays. This was a groundbreaking development, marking the beginning of scientific exploration into light’s therapeutic properties.

In the mid-20th century, NASA further advanced light therapy research. Scientists sought ways to help astronauts heal more quickly from injuries and maintain their health during space missions. This led to the development of LED (light-emitting diode) technology, which proved effective in promoting cell growth and healing.

How it's going...

Today, light therapy is widely used in dermatology and skincare. It involves exposing the skin to specific wavelengths of light, typically using LEDs, to treat various conditions such as acne, psoriasis, and eczema. Red light therapy, for instance, is known for its anti-inflammatory benefits and ability to stimulate collagen production, making it a popular choice for anti-aging treatments. Blue light therapy, on the other hand, targets acne-causing bacteria, helping to clear and prevent breakouts.

The benefits of light therapy extend beyond skin care. It is also used to treat mood disorders like Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), regulate circadian rhythms, and even accelerate wound healing. With its roots deeply planted in history and continued advancements in technology, light therapy remains a versatile and effective tool for enhancing both physical and mental well-being.

In my treatment room...

I sincerely believe in the healing benefits of light therapy so much so that I decided to include this modality in EVERY skin treatment. In an effort to provide access to this amazing technology outside of the treatment room, I created 12 + 24 session package options.

The packages offer you the opportunity to maximize the benefits for collagen production and cellular repair for lasting radiance. Protein building for firmer skin will require 2-3 sessions/week up to 7-8 weeks.
